La aerolínea WOW busca a alguien para vivir en Islandia durante el verano, viajar y contarlo

La aerolínea WOW está buscando a una persona y un acompañante que quieran mudarse a Islandia, viajar a ocho de los 38 destinos a los que vuelan y documentar esas experiencias en una guía digital de viaje.

Se trata de un trabajo pago por diez semanas, desde el 1 de junio hasta el 15 de agosto de 2018. Más abajo, en las condiciones, pueden leer todos los detalles de lo que brindan al empleado, pero les adelantamos que cubre el alojamiento en Reikiavik y los destinos visitados, dinero para gastar durante el viaje y varias cosas más.

¿Cómo se aplica? Llenando un breve formulario con tus datos (incluyendo redes sociales) y haciendo una guía de viaje en video sobre tu ciudad. Si te gusta lo audiovisual, es una excelente oportunidad para combinar ese arte con el mundo de los viajes.

Las únicas dos condiciones que vimos que hay que cumplir son: ser mayor de 18 años y poder expresarse bien en idioma inglés. Así enumeran los pasos para participar:

Citamos los términos y condiciones:

1. General
Applicants are applying for a WOW air summer job as a content creator for 10 weeks during the summer of 2018.
Application deadline is on Monday May 14th at 11:59 PM (UTC) . WOW air’s Travel Guide will be announced on WOW air’s social media Friday May 18th.
It’s not necessary to buy goods or services from WOW air in order to be considered eligible for WOW air’s Travel Guide project. Buying goods or services from WOW air will not increase your chance of being chosen as a WOW Travel Guide, only your video can do that.
WOW Travel Guide is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered or associated with Facebook or any other social media platform. All information submitted by potential Travel Guides is provided to WOW air and not Facebook or other social media platforms. All questions, comments, or complaints regarding WOW Travel Guide should be directed to WOW air.
2. What will WOW Travel Guides get?
Weeks of travel with flights, hotels, activities and travel allowance all paid for by WOW air. Travel Guides will also gain social media exposure and hopefully some priceless memories.
Accommodation in Iceland: Travel Guides will stay at a furnished apartment in downtown Reykjavík, while in Iceland.
Hotels: WOW air will be taking care of choosing, booking and paying for Travel Guide hotels or other overnight accommodations when they are travelling on behalf of WOW air in connection with the Travel Guide project.
Flights: Flights will be provided by WOW air from and to WOW air’s destinations of the summer of 2018. If the Travel Guide’s domicile isn’t in one of WOW air’s destination cities the then Travel Guide is responsible for all travel expenses for the journey to the nearest WOW air’s destination.
Travel allowance: Payments made in accordance with regulations of Iceland.
Travel Guides will take 8 trips to random WOW air destinations from Iceland. Each trip will last for 2-4 days. Travel Guides will also take at least 4 domestic trips in Iceland. All trips will be taken over the course of 10 weeks during the summer of 2018.
3. Eligibility
You (being The Applicant) must be at least 18 years of age and of legal age according to your home country legislation.
Only individuals can take part in the Travel Guide project. Companies, organizations, and WOW air employees are not permitted to take part.
Individuals must have a Facebook account to participate.
You (being The Applicant) must have good command of the English language and be able to express yourself and your ideas clearly in English.
By applying for the Travel Guide project you acknowledge that you are not employed by, contracted to or otherwise associated with any other airline anywhere in the world and that your participation in the project does not infringe with other contractual obligations of yours.
You must ensure that you are in good physical and mental health and, if requested by WOW air, prove that there is no medical, psychological or additional condition, injury or illness that could affect or hinder your participation in the Travel Guide project. You assert and warrant that you are not a user of any prohibited drug or substance.
Any use of robotic, automatic, programmed or the like methods of participation will void all entries by such methods, WOW air reserves the right to prohibit the participation of an individual if fraud or tampering is suspected, or if the individual fails to comply with any requirement of participation as stated herein or with any provision in these terms and conditions.
4. Application guidelines, material rights and prohibited content
How to apply: The application process is simple. Just film, save and upload your video on www.wowair.com/travelguide. Your video is your application. In need for more instructions?
Create a video between 60-120 seconds long.

Fill in the necessary information
Upload your video
Link all social media links (Instagram, Facebook, Snapchat, Twitter and other if applicable).
Wait… WOW air’s Travel Guide will be presented on WOW air’s social media May 18th 2018.
WOW air will only accept applications for the Travel Guide project submitted online on www.wowair.com/travelguide. WOW air takes no responsibility for lost, damaged, delayed, incomplete, illegible, mutilated or misdirected entries, entries not received by the entry deadline, or for electronic, network or computer/phone failures or malfunctions, lost or unavailable network connections, or failed, incomplete, garbled or delayed computer transmission that may limit a user’s ability to participate in the Travel Guide project, or other hardware, software or technical errors of any kind including any damage to any person’s computer related to or resulting from participating in or experiencing any material in connection with the Travel Guide project.
Applicants acknowledge that the application submitted is completed truthfully and has been completed by the applicant.
All applicants grant WOW air the right and permission to use all;
photographs, video recordings and all other media content, which the applicant will produce during the Travel Guide project, which covers both the application process (including all videos submitted by applicants) and the 10 week period where the Travel Guide produces content for WOW air. Hereunder falls the right to use the material, in whole or part, through the media of television, Internet, multimedia presentation, radio audiotape, social media, videotape or in printed form or display form, for the promotion of WOW air’s business activities. Applicants acknowledge that WOW air may edit or adapt such material in any way it sees fit and use it for marketing.
Applicants waive any moral rights to such material and any right to remuneration for the use of such material used for this purpose and assign and transfer to WOW air any and all rights, including ownership of content and copyright, which applicant may have in this material.
Application cannot (a) be sexually explicit or suggestive, violent or derogatory of any ethnic, racial, gender, religious, professional or age group, profane or pornographic, reference nudity or any materially dangerous activity; (b) promote the excessive or irresponsible consumption of alcohol, or promote illegal use of alcohol, drugs, tobacco, firearms/weapons (or the use of any of the foregoing), any activities that may appear unsafe or dangerous or any particular political agenda or message; (c) be obscene or offensive, endorse any form of hate or hate group; (d) contain anyone under 18 years of age. (e) contain copyrighted materials owned by others without permission and (f) cannot be in violation of any law.
The managers of the WOW Travel Guide website have access to the information you supply when sending your application. WOW air will not pass your details to any third parties, unless forced to do so by an Icelandic administrative body or an Icelandic court of law.
5. Selection of Travel Guide
One video (submitted by a pair of applicants) will be picked and announced on Friday May 18th 2018.
The selection of applicants will be made at the sole discretion of WOW air.
Winner will be notified on Friday May 18th 2018. If the winner doesn’t respond within 48 hours, another winner will be selected. The winner must show legal identification or otherwise prove his identity beyond any reasonable doubt in order to claim his prize. If it comes to light that the winner does not fulfil the job application, he/she will not be awarded the prize and another winner will be chosen instead. The winner’s name will be published on WOW air’s social media accounts, it’s website and other marketing platforms after the competition has finished. WOW air reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or greater value if the designated prize should become unavailable for any reason. No substitution, cash redemption or transfer of prize by the winner is permitted. Non—compliance with this requirement, or if prize/prize notification is returned as non—deliverable, or if the winner is found to be ineligible or not in compliance with these terms and conditions, such prize will be forfeited and will be awarded to an alternate winner.
If you are selected by WOW air to become a Travel Guide you must agree to: (a) Take part in preparing your trips, only if WOW air requires so (b) make yourself available to travel at times, dates and locations required by WOW air; (c) participate in the Travel Guide project under the terms of WOW air and to sign a Participant Agreement and (d) provide WOW air with all information and documentation necessary to enable WOW air to make enquiries as WOW air requires to confirm your identity, age, background, criminal or health record.
6. Indemnification
Entrants, by participating in this Travel Guide, hereby waive and release, and agree to hold harmless WOW air, its subsidiaries, affiliates, licensors, advertising and promotion agency and all of their respective officers, directors, employees and representatives and agents, from and against, any and all rights, claims and causes of action whatsoever that they may have, or which may arise, against any of them for any liability for any matter, cause or thing whatsoever, including but not limited to any injury, loss, damage, whether direct, compensatory, incidental or consequential, to person, including death, and/ or property, arising in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from their acceptance, possession, use or misuse of any end good obtained with the prizes or their participation in the Travel Guide project, or any prize related activity. By accepting to participate, winner agrees that WOW air may use the winner’s name and Content for promotional purposes and to the use of statements made by or attributed to winner relating to WOW air, its related and affiliated companies or to this project and grants to WOW air, and its related and affiliated companies any and all rights to said use without further notice and/or compensation.
7. Disputes
By participating in the Travel Guide project participants agree that 1) Any and all disputes, claims, and causes of action arising out of or connected with the Travel Guide project, or prizes awarded shall be resolved individually, without resort to any form of class action; 2) Any and all claims, judgement and awards shall be limited to actual out-of-pocket costs incurred, but in no event attorneys’ fees; and 3) Under no circumstances will any participant be permitted to obtain any award for, and participant hereby waives all rights to claim, punitive, incidental or consequential damages and any and all rights to have damages multiplied or otherwise increased and any other damages, other than for actual out of pocket expenses.
8. Governing law and jurisdiction
All issues and questions concerning the construction, validity, interpretation and enforceability of these terms and conditions, or the rights and obligations of the entrants and WOW air or the released parties in connection with the Travel Guide project, shall be governed by, and constructed in accordance with Icelandic law.
Any legal proceedings arising out of the Travel Guide project or relating to these terms and conditions shall be instituted only in an Icelandic court of law.
The invalidity or unenforceability of any provision of these terms and conditions shall not affect the validity or enforceability of any other provision. In the event that any provision is determined to be invalid or otherwise unenforceable or illegal, these terms and conditions shall otherwise remain in effect and be constructed in accordance with their terms as if the invalid or illegal provision were not contained herein.

    Hola! Aprovecho que hablan de WOW para contar mi experiencia con la aerolinea.
    Viajamos WAS (Washington DC) – AMS (Amsterdam) ida y vuelta con escala en KEF (Reijavik).
    La ida: Rompieron las ruedas de una valija (nueva).
    A la vuelta:
    1) Pagamos para elegir asientos y eso no fue respetado en los boarding pass.
    2) Mientras hacíamos el primer tramo de nuestro regreso (AMS-KEF) la aerolinea adelanta la partida del segundo tramo (KEF – WAS).
    3) En KEF, Como no nos avisan nada, nosotros no estábamos ni enterados del cambio. Llegamos tarde a la puerta de embarque del segundo tramo (KEF – WAS) (y aunque el avión no había sido desconectado de la manga aún) no nos dejan abordar. No entendíamos qué pasaba.
    4) Mesa de informes no responde nada. No da ningún tipo de información, ni siquiera que el vuelo había sido reprogramado. No brinda soluciones de ningún tipo.

    Al final tuvimos que comprar otros pasajes en otra aerolinea para no quedar varados. Cuando llegamos a Washington, recibimos un correo electrónico de WOW avisando que el vuelo KEF-WAS sería reprogramado.

    Por supuesto hicimos los reclamos a la empresa por todos estos problemas. Después de 3 meses de dilatar las respuestas, finalmente dicen que no tienen solución para ofrecernos y que si queremos, que apelemos a las autoridades.

    Si alguno tiene algún consejo de cómo proceder, bienvenido. Mientras tanto, me vale contar la experiencia para que otros viajeros consideren mejor a esta aerolinea.

      Terrible, Sebastián, ¿cómo compraste el pasaje, directo con ellos o a través de una agencia?

        El pasaje lo compré directo con WOW. Y eso ya merece una mención extra.
        Después de cargar mis datos y los de la tarjeta en la web de WOW, yo creí que ya había comprado el pasaje. Pero resulta que, según ellos, yo había reservado el pasaje y ellos iban a mantener esa reserva hasta que se acreditara el pago, máximo una hora.
        Como la acreditación demora un par de días (cosas de bancos) WOW amenazaba con cancelar la reserva. Consulté al banco y me dijeron: «A vos ya te debitamos el dinero y a WOW ya le avisamos que van a recibirlo en 48 hs. Es lo normal. Deberían saberlo.» Tuve que llamar varias veces a WOW para que me prometieran que iban a mantener la reserva por 48 hs hasta que finalmente se acreditó el pago. Claro que esto también generan inconvenientes operativos porque no podía seguir comprando otros pasajes si no estaba seguro de que iba a poder volar como había planificado.
        También aprendí que tienen que pasar 73 minutos de espera antes de que te atienda una persona por la línea telefónica. Casualmente siempre fue el mismo tiempo de demora en todos los llamados que hice. Pero asumo que soy re paranoico y que ellos me atendieron tan pronto como pudieron.
